Weekly review for September 20-24, 2021


September 20, 2021. Members of the State Great Hural (Parliament) led by Chairman G.Zandanshatar, who were on a working visit to the United States, met with Deputy Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs on the National Security Council, Kurt Campbell. During the meeting, parties exchanged views on broadening bilateral economic relations between the countries.


September 22, 2021. Chair of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy, MP B.Battumur met with Lee Yeo Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia. The chair of the Standing Committee noted that the high-level reciprocal visits and talks have played an important role in expanding and developing bilateral relations. During the virtual summit held between President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in on September 10th, the sides agreed to elevate bilateral ‘comprehensive partnership’ to ‘strategic partnership’ level. This has been an event of great importance in the history of relations between two countries.


September 22, 2021. The seventh “100 Years Together’ virtual meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Russian Federation was hosted in Chita, Russia.  


September 24, 2021. Chair of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy, Member of the Mongolian-Indian Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural MP B.Battumur met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia Mohinder Pratap Singh to discuss relations and cooperation between the two countries in defense, energy, tourism, information technology, and other sectors. 


September 24, 2021. Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) G.Zandanshatar issued the resolution a list of the draft laws to discuss in the 2021 autumn session. During this period, a total of 24 draft laws are planned to be discussed. At the beginning of the agenda, the Budget Law of Mongolia for 2022, the draft resolution of the State Great Hural on approving the State Monetary Policy Guidelines for 2022. Moreover, the Law on Permits, the Law on Supervision of the State Great Hural, the Law on Alcohol Control and Combating Alcoholism, the Law on Asset Valuation, the Law on Asset Management Companies, Amendments to the Law on Development Policy, Planning and Management, the Law on the Legal Status of the Trade Union, and the Law on the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be discussed.
