Vice-Chairwoman of the State Great Hural receives Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia

On March 31, 2021, Vice-Chairwoman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, Ms. S.Odontuya received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia Mr. Raúl Delgado Concepcion. 


At the beginning of the meeting, the parties recalled that last year marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Cuba, and noted the successful development of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.        

The Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Cuba, Ms. Sh.Battsetseg met with the Deputy Director of the Foreign Relations Department of the Communist Party, Ms. Angel Arzuaga, and Member of the Cuban National Assembly, Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Policy, Ms. Maria Yolanda Ferrer in the context of expanding bilateral cooperation. The sides further discussed in detail the measures to be taken in the coming years to expand cooperation between the two countries' legislatures and to increase the cooperation between the women parliamentarians of the two countries. The Vice-Chairwoman S.Odontuya has expressed her full support of this initiative.

 Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepcion re-extended his invitation to the Chairman of the State Great Hural, Mr. G. Zandanshatar and Vice-Chairwoman Ms. S. Odontuya to visit Cuba once the pandemic has subsided. The Ambassador also provided detailed information on Cuba's current political, social and international situation, and also work and activities that have been undertaken during the pandemic.

 The two sides further exchanged views on areas such as tourism, the people’s relations between the countries, women's leadership and the health sector.  

The Vice-Chairwoman S.Odontuya touched upon the subject of high incidence rates of diabetes in Mongolia, and inquired about the status of the imports of the Cuban developed Heperprot biotechnological products to Mongolia. Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepcion stated he was well pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health this week. He further stated, “In the future, we will pay attention to the issue of making the product more accessible and will include it in the list of discounted drugs for health insurance.”
