MP N.Uchral, Chair of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Innovation and Digital Policy, participated in the meeting of the IPU Standing Committee Bureau

The 142nd Inter-Parliamentary Union(IPU) Assembly is to be held online on May 24-28, 2021. The Assembly’s plenarysession, relevant meetings and conferences are currently underway.

On 13th May, 2021, Member of the StateGreat Hural (Parliament) and Chair of the Parliamentary Standing Committee onInnovation and Digital Policy, Mr. N.Uchral, participated in the online meetingof the Bureau for the IPU Standing Committee on UN Affairs. Mr. N.Uchral hasbeen an active member since his election to the Standing Committee on UNAffairs Bureau in 2019, at the 140 IPU Assembly in Doha, Qatar.

The meeting of the Bureau involvedparliamentarians in the discussions on the "UN75’s Common Agenda",as input into a significant report by the UN Secretary General due in summer2021, with Mr. N.Uchral sharing his thoughts on this issue.

The meeting, attended by 33 delegatesfrom over 20 IPU member states, highlighted the UN75 Declaration, which iscomposed of twelve commitments that need to be addressed in the context ofmultilateral relations.

The purpose of this effort is for the renewalof UN led international efforts to create a more stable, just and peacefulworld.
