Prime Minister of Japan, Sh.Abe pays a courtesy call on Chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia, M.Enkhbold

On July 14, 2016, Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, Miyegombo ENKHBOLD held a meeting with Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.

Chairman M.Enkhbold expressed his gratitude meeting with Premier Sh.Abe, who is paying an official visit to Mongolia as well as to attend the 11th ASEM Summit in Ulaanbaatar. He also congratulated Premier Sh.Abe, whose heading Liberal Democratic Party won few days ago the regular election of members of the House of Councillors, the upper house of the National Diet of Japan. This is a matter of fact the people of Japan evaluates highly Shinzo Abe’s policy being carried out today, he added.

In turn, Prime Minister Sh.Abe acknowledged that he would be continuing to work for further development of bilateral relations and cooperation. “The 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries will be marked in 2017 and we believe, our two states would closer collaborate to strengthen this relationship”.

“Mongolia’s one of the top priorities of foreign policy is to develop friendly ties and cooperation with Japan. In the frameworks of the Mongolia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, which was entered into force a month ago, the first Joint Committee meeting was successfully organized in Ulaanbaatar. In order to implement this Agreement, Mongolia is willing to closer collaborate with Japan that would lead to the constant growth of bilateral trade and investment. Also, the Mid-term Action Plan established between Mongolia and Japan has being accomplished at 90% and we would like to commence the next Mid-term Action Plan with Japan”, noted Chairman M.Enkhbold.

In turn, Premier Sh.Abe expressed his interest to further expand bilateral cooperation and said he was happy that the Mongolia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement has been finally entered into force after many years of negotiations and extended his best wishes on successful hosting the 11th ASEM Summit of Heads of State and Government.
