Barnaul to host the next “Together for 100 Years” virtual meeting

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Russian Federation. As part of its commemoration, the Mongolia-Russia Friendship Association, in cooperation with the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Ulaanbaatar, launched a friendship event under the theme of “Together for 100 Years”, in February.


The event’s succeeding online meeting, which aims to support the strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, was held at 14:00 ULAT, on March 25, 2021.

The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairwoman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) and Chair of the Mongolia-Russia Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural, Ms. S.Odontuya and Member of the State Great Hural, Vice-Chair of the Mongolia-Russia Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural, Mr. B.Enkh-Amgalan.

Ms. S.Odontuya extended her congratulations to the Hero of Mongolia, Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General, astronaut, Mr. Gurragchaa Jugderdemid on receiving the Chinggis Khaan Order. She further made her congratulatory remarks to the participants of the friendship event on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as the 40th anniversary of the joint space flight. Mr. B.Enkh-Amgalan expressed the significance of the Russian Federation being the first country to celebrate 100 years of diplomatic relations with Mongolia. He further mentioned that in this regard a number of events have been held between the cities of Ulaanbaatar and Novosibirsk.

This meeting concluded as the next meeting moved to Barnaul, the capital of the Altai Krai, the Russian Federation.

The friendship event will continue for a period of eight months until October 28, 2021, between Ulaanbaatar and Barnaul, Gorno-Altaysk-Kyzyl, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, and Elista.
