On April 3, 2017, Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia Mr. Miyegombo ENKHBOLD during his participation at the 136th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Mr. Chung Sye-kyun.

During the meeting, Speaker Chung Sye-kyun expressed his satisfaction on successfully growing the bilateral relations at all spheres. He further noted, “We are well aware of economic difficulties facing Mongolia today and as mounted close friendly relations, friendship and close partnership, the Republic of Korea is ready to assist Mongolia to overcome the difficulties”.

Chairman M.Enkhbold noted, “As a result of the parliamentary election held last year, Mongolia is heading towards a stable and responsive government. Therefore, we believe that economic difficulties can be overcome in the short term. We have reached an initial agreement with the International Monetary Fund for a program and glad that the Republic of Korea is expected to provide a financial support under this program”.

Following the exchanges of views on inter-parliamentary cooperation boost, economy, business and other sectors, Speaker Chung Sye-kyun invited his counterpart to participate in the Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments (MSEAP) to be organized in Korea in June of this year.
