Women Members of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia met with Ambassadors of the European Union member countries

Vice-Chairperson of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia Ms. S.Odontuya, Chair of the Women Parliamentary Caucus Ms. D.Sarangerel, and Members of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia and Members of the Women Parliamentary Caucus Ms. B.Saranchimeg, Ms. B.Jargalmaa, Ms. Ch.Undram met with Ambassadors and Non-Resident Ambassadors of the European Union member countries to Mongolia.


Non-Resident Ambassadors have come to Mongolia on 15th-18th May, 2023. The meeting was held at the request of the Ambassador and Non-Resident Ambassadors of the countries of the European Union. Ambassadors from the European Union, Finland, Italy, Slovenia, Sweden attended the meeting.


The two sides exchanged views and questions, where the Ambassadors shared their country’s experience in strengthening women’s participation in politics, parity and ensuring gender equality.

The 13 members of the Women Parliamentary Caucus work together regardless of party affiliation, to find solutions to pressing societal issues.


As a result of the Caucus’ cooperation with the United Nations and the European Union, progressive provisions in regards to increasing the participation of women have been included in the Draft Law on the Election of the State Great Hural of Mongolia. Therefore, the Members in-attendance at the meeting expressed certainty that concrete results will be achieved.
