Speaker of the Lok Sabha of India Om Birla sent an official letter to G.Zandanshatar, Chairman of the State Great Hural

The Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar received an official letter from Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha (Lower House of the Parliament) of the Republic of India.


In the his letter, Om Birla informed that the new building of the Parliament of India was dedicated to the people of India by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, on May 28, 2023.

Om Birla mentioned also mentioned that the new Parliament building has a unique design that reflects the richness of the culture and heritage of India, and it is a modern, environmentally friendly building that incorporates technological advancements. Moreover, he noted that democracy is an integral part of the ancient Indian tradition and that there were many reasons why the Republic of India chose parliamentary democracy soon after independence; since then, the country has strengthened its democracy and the new Parliament building will inspire the elected public representatives to work for the common good and will be an important sign of India's efforts to further strengthen parliamentary governance around the world.

The current building of the Parliament of India was constructed in 1927. Almost 100 years later, the new Parliament building was constructed on the occasion to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
