MP D. Tsogtbaatar, Chair of the Mongolia-OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Friendship Group, and MP O. Nominchimeg represented Mongolia at the 24th Winter Meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held in Vienna, Austria, on February 20-21, 2025.

The assembly brought together over 240 parliamentarians from the 57 OSCE member states, focusing on critical regional political and security challenges, including nuclear security, cybersecurity threats, artificial intelligence, and the ongoing situation in Ukraine. Discussions also covered measures to rebuild trust among member states, promote democracy, human rights, and strengthen the rule of law, highlighting the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s role in these efforts.

During the session of the OSCE's General Committee on Political Affairs and Security, the Mongolian delegation actively participated in a special discussion on nuclear security, emphasizing Mongolia’s longstanding commitment to nuclear non-proliferation. MP D. Tsogtbaatar highlighted that Mongolia declared itself a nuclear-weapon-free zone even when nuclear threats had seemingly diminished after the Cold War. He noted Kazakhstan and Thailand’s subsequent support for this important initiative.

Additionally, MP D. Tsogtbaatar addressed meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Special Committee on Countering Terrorism and the Support Group for the Silk Road initiative. The delegation also held discussions with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Pia Kauma to exchange views on enhancing Mongolia's cooperation with the OSCE.
