MP J. Bat-Erdene meets with Czech Ambassador Jan Vytopil

Member of Parliament and head of the Mongolia-Czech Parliamentary Group J. Bat-Erdene held a meeting with Jan Vytopil, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia.


During the meeting, MP J. Bat-Erdene highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries and emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Mongolia and the Czech Republic. He reaffirmed Mongolia’s view of the Czech Republic as a trusted partner in Europe and a key "third neighbor," sharing common values such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. He expressed commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.


Ambassador Jan Vytopil acknowledged the deep and successful ties between the two nations and provided an update on ongoing collaboration in education, law enforcement, and environmental protection. He noted that 29 Mongolian students are currently studying in the Czech Republic under a presidential scholarship program and projected that over 20 additional students would enroll this year. He also confirmed his country’s continued support for student exchange programs.


Additionally, the Czech side is planning conservation projects, including the reintroduction of Przewalski’s horses in Numrug soum, Dornod province, and a project to protect the endangered wild Bactrian camel. Further initiatives under discussion include the establishment of a Chinggis Khaan Museum in the Czech Republic and an exhibition featuring dinosaur fossils discovered in Mongolia. Ambassador Vytopil requested the support of Parliament and the Mongolia-Czech Parliamentary Group in advancing these projects.


MP J. Bat-Erdene underscored the importance of parliamentary cooperation in bilateral relations and reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to fostering closer ties between Parliament, government institutions, and citizens of both countries.
