The Secretary-General of the State Great Hural (Parliament), B. Baasandorj, participated in the meeting of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments

The 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is being held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, under the theme “Parliamentary Action for Social Development.”


The assembly, attended by over 1,700 delegates from 140 countries, continues its sessions. During the assembly, a regular meeting of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments was also held, with the Secretary-General of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, B. Baasandorj, participating.


The discussions at this session focus on topics such as the integration of new members into parliaments, personnel training and development, the accessibility and transparency of parliamentary activities, among other sub-themes. The Secretary-General, B. Baasandorj, shared insights into the strategic plans and operational specifics of the Mongolian Parliament, presented the experience gained, and engaged in bilateral meetings to deepen cooperation between the parliaments and their secretariats.



The IPU’s 150th Assembly is hosting more than 90 sub-sessions, discussions, and roundtable meetings. During these, B. Baasandorj also participated in a high-level roundtable on “Land Legislation: The Role of Parliamentarians in Ensuring Land Ownership Rights and Equality.” In this session, participants discussed the implementation of relevant legislation and the steps needed to improve the legal framework.


Participants in the meeting agreed on enhancing parliamentary functions based on progressive approaches and mutual initiatives, while strengthening regional partnerships. The meeting of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments will continue until May 9.
