The launch of the "Financial Code for Women Entrepreneurs" program, organized under the patronage of the Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, was held today, April 16, 2025, in the "Ikh Mongol" hall of the State Palace.
In his opening speech, Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan highlighted that international efforts to create a legal environment ensuring gender equality and rights have intensified. He pointed out that terms related to women-owned businesses and women entrepreneurs are increasingly being integrated into business practices and the legal framework worldwide.
He also emphasized that Mongolia has been committed to gender equality since the adoption of the Gender Equality Law in 2011 and has paid attention to promoting gender equality in every sector.
According to a study conducted by the Market Training and Research Institute of the School of Finance and Economics, key challenges for female entrepreneurs include the lack of collateral, limited financial literacy, business networks, market limitations, gender stereotypes, and insufficient policy support from the government, as well as a weak legal and regulatory environment.
Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan expressed confidence that projects and programs such as the "Women in Business" and "Financial Code for Women Entrepreneurs," supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, would address these challenges effectively.
Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan further highlighted that, as Mongolia is one of the first countries in the Central Asian region to join the "Financial Code for Women Entrepreneurs" program, it has the opportunity to share its experiences and lead regional cooperation.
He also emphasized that in order to implement this program, the State Great Hural will focus on policy support for women entrepreneurs and work to improve the legal and regulatory framework. He expressed his commitment to support all initiatives and proposals aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in the future, as reported by the Secretariat of the State Great Hural.
