To support the social participation and employment of seniors, increase their income, protect their health, ensure the implementation of the Law on Older Persons, and to lead and positively influence these efforts, the State Great Hural (Parliament) emphasizes the importance of intergenerational communication and continuity by involving knowledgeable and experienced seniors in the activities of working groups established by the Speaker’s orders. The “Open Parliament: Expert” program has been launched to create opportunities for seniors to share their knowledge and experience with Members of the State Great Hural and to increase their participation in policymaking.
This program includes women aged 55 and older and men aged 60 and older who have held leadership or advisory positions in the fields of politics, society, or science. Selected seniors will introduce the legislative, policymaking, and oversight activities of the State Great Hural to the public and senior representatives, provide knowledge and understanding, and advise Members of Parliament based on their own experience.
The General Organizers of the program are the Secretariat of the State Great Hural, the Parliamentary Research and Development Institute, and the Group Supporting Senior Participation within the Parliament.
Seniors interested in participating in the “Open Parliament: Expert” program can register by submitting their information through their membership in senior associations or clubs from May 1 to May 25, 2025. They can also register online by selecting the Senior Program registration option in the e-Parliament section on the website www.parliament.mn.
