Over 800 Delegates to Participate in the “We, Women” Forum

“We, Women” Forum to Promote Female Leadership and Participation in Local Decision-Making

The Secretariat of the State Great Hural (Parliament), in cooperation with the United Nations and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), will host the “We, Women” forum on May 21–22 at the Government Palace. The forum aims to increase the participation of women politicians at local decision-making levels, promote their leadership potential, and foster positive social impact.

Over 800 women representatives will attend, including 143 female delegates from Citizens’ Representatives Khurals of 21 provinces and 9 districts, as well as 660 delegates from 330 soums and 9 districts.


Distinguished participants include Members of Parliament who will deliver greetings, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Choi Jin Won, Abe Akie—the head of the Japan Social Development Fund and former First Lady of Japan—and Matilda Dimovska, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Keynote presentations will be delivered by Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural Kh.Bulgantuya on “Women’s Participation in Decision-Making,” Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission D.Sunjid on “Human Rights Status at the Local Level,” and M.Tömörchuluun, six-time elected representative of Sükhbaatar province and former mayor of Baruun-Urt city, on “Women in Local Development.”

The forum will include sectoral discussions covering women’s political participation, women’s impact on local development, child and family policies, health, education, economy, and employment. These will be led by Members of Parliament: L.Enkhsaikhan (Chair of the Social Policy Standing Committee), D.Ganmaa (Member of the Social Policy Standing Committee), Ch.Undram (Chair of the Education, Culture, Science and Sports Committee), and B.Jargalan (Member of the Economic Standing Committee).

The forum seeks to empower women’s roles in governance and development while addressing important social policy issues through collaborative dialogue.
