Today (28 May 2025), Ms. L. Enkhnasan, Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, received Her Excellency Fiona Blyth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mongolia.

Chair L. Enkhnasan remarked that the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries continue to grow successfully across all sectors. She noted that the Standing Committee on Social Policy focuses on implementing policies to promote employment and improve the health and social protection systems. She further introduced the committee’s efforts in drafting and discussing relevant laws and decisions in these areas.

She emphasized Mongolia’s current focus on refining the performance-based financing system in the health sector, enhancing preventative healthcare, improving mental health and psychosocial services, strengthening emergency healthcare, and placing greater emphasis on men's health and education. In this context, she expressed interest in studying and adopting the UK’s best practices and exchanging knowledge in these fields.

Ambassador Fiona Blyth underlined the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the bilateral relationship and reaffirmed the UK's commitment to deepening both bilateral and multilateral mechanisms of collaboration.
