Children’s Room Opens for the First Time in the State Palace

The Secretariat of the State Great Hural (Parliament) has officially opened a newly furnished children’s room located in the west wing of the State Palace. Today marked the launch of this initiative, with the first young visitors welcomed into the space.

During the opening ceremony, Secretary General of the State Great Hural B. Baasandorj noted that, as the State Palace and Sukhbaatar Square are under special protection, establishing the children’s room required amendments to relevant rules and regulations. “After overcoming these challenges, we are proud to open this room on the eve of International Children’s Day,” he stated. He emphasized that this facility allows parents with young children to leave them in a secure space under camera surveillance while they attend to work duties without concern. As a result, employees' productivity and the overall performance of the institution are expected to improve.

This initiative aligns with the 2024–2028 Strategic Plan of the State Great Hural, which outlines a people-centered vision that upholds human rights and freedoms. The creation of this room reflects the Secretariat’s commitment to fostering a humane and supportive working environment for public servants.

To mark the occasion, Secretary General B. Baasandorj presented gifts and congratulations to the room’s first guests: B. Bakhdal (Grade 4) and B. Badmaarag (Grade 1) from the First General Education School of Ulaanbaatar, B. Amarbayar (Grade 1) from the Russian-Mongolian Joint School No. 3, and E. Erdenebileg (Grade 4) and E. Nomin-Erdene (Grade 1) from Shine Mongol School.

The newly established children’s room features a range of toys that promote cultural heritage, including traditional Mongolian puzzle games, along with simplified science books, storybooks, and literature focused on traditional knowledge. The children expressed their excitement at having a space near their parents' workplace where they can read and play while they wait.
