Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural Kh. Bulgantuya received representatives of the Croatian Parliament

Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) Kh. Bulgantuya today (2025.06.10) received a delegation led by Predrag Štromar, Member of the Croatian Parliament and Chair of the Croatia-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Deputy Chairwoman Kh. Bulgantuya warmly welcomed the Croatian delegation to Mongolia and emphasized the shared values underpinning the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

She noted that Mongolia regards Croatia as an important partner in Europe, and expanding cooperation across all sectors is a priority in Mongolia’s foreign policy. She also recalled that since establishing diplomatic relations on March 10, 1993, Mongolia and Croatia have cooperated based on shared values such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Despite the geographic distance, this unity of values has brought the two countries closer.

Deputy Chairwoman Kh. Bulgantuya highlighted that following the 2024 elections, the State Great Hural was formed with 126 members, including 32 women MPs, making up 25% of the total membership. This places Mongolia among the leading Asian countries in terms of women’s representation in parliament.

Croatian MP Predrag Štromar expressed high appreciation for Mongolia’s democracy and discussed cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and information technology sectors, including proposals for scholarship programs for student and researcher exchanges and establishing a cultural and arts center. During the meeting, they also exchanged views on connecting the “Landlocked Developing Countries Research Center” in Mongolia with Croatia’s initiative, the “Three Seas Initiative,” to create strategic opportunities for access to Eastern Europe.

Both sides discussed ways to further invigorate bilateral relations and cooperation and the potential for exchanging experiences and implementing joint projects through parliamentary friendship groups.
