J. Zoljargal, MP and Chair of the Standing Committee on Innovation and E-Policy; along with Ch. Anar and S. Tsenguun, MPs and members of the same committee, held a meeting today (24 June 2025) with a delegation led by Fabian Hamilton, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Mongolia in the British Parliament.
At the beginning of the meeting, J. Zoljargal, MP and Chair of the Standing Committee on Innovation and E-Policy, introduced the D-Parliament.mn digital platform, including the D.Petition and the Public Petition Submission System, which have been implemented since 2022. These initiatives aim to ensure public participation in the legislative process and strengthen civic governance. He noted that the platforms align with international democratic standards and have significantly increased civic and youth engagement.
He further emphasized that, in line with the rapidly evolving digital era, Mongolia is working at the policy level to:
-Enact foundational legislation for the sector,
-Ensure the implementation of legal frameworks,
-Strengthen intersectoral coordination, and
-Protect digital and cybersecurity.
Additionally, Mr. Zoljargal shared that discussions have taken place with leaders of the Satellite Application Accelerator Center on satellite development. Within this framework, Mongolia is planning to establish a National Science Complex, which would serve as the foundation for a National Satellite Development Program, offering opportunities for collaboration.
According to the Press and Public Relations Department of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, the representatives of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Group in the British Parliament expressed their pleasure in highlighting that the traditional friendly relations between Mongolia and the United Kingdom, based on shared values such as democracy, human rights, fundamental freedoms, and the rule of law, are expanding dynamically across a wide range of sectors including politics, trade, economy, culture, education, environment, and mining.
