The Chair and Members of the Mongolia–United Kingdom Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural (Parliament) received representatives from the Parliament of the United Kingdom

On 24 June 2025, Chairwoman of the Mongolia–United Kingdom Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural (Parliament) Ch. Undram, together with members of the Group, received a delegation led by Fabian Hamilton, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in the Parliament of the United Kingdom.


At the beginning of the meeting, Member of the State Great Hural (Parliament) and Chairwoman of the Mongolia–United Kingdom Parliamentary Group Ch. Undram expressed her pleasure at meeting the delegation again in Ulaanbaatar and warmly welcomed them to Mongolia. She recalled that she was part of the official delegation accompanying the Chairman of the House of Commons of the UK Parliament, Lindsay Hoyle, during the Chairman of the State Great Hural’s official visit to the United Kingdom, emphasizing the visit’s significance in strengthening cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. Fabian Hamilton, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the UK Parliament, stated that this visit would also have a significant impact on enhancing parliamentary cooperation between Mongolia and the United Kingdom.


Mr. Fabian Hamilton expressed his gratitude to the Chair and members of the Mongolia–United Kingdom Parliamentary Group of the State Great Hural for taking the time to receive and meet with the delegation.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in education, culture, tourism, and the economy. It was noted that the Government of Mongolia regards tourism as one of the key economic sectors and has declared 2023–2028 as the “Visit Mongolia Years.” In this context, Mongolia has exempted citizens of 34 foreign countries from visa requirements for stays of up to 30 days, and holders of all types of passports issued by the United Kingdom are now allowed visa-free entry. The parties also highlighted the importance of the updated 2024 Air Services Agreement between the Governments of Mongolia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in enhancing tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and economic turnover.



The meeting was attended by Ch. Bum-Ochir, M. Mandkhai, and M. Sarnai; Fabian Hamilton, Chair of the International Parliamentary Association Liaison Group in the UK Parliament; Tan Dhesi, Member of the UK House of Commons and member of the International Parliamentary Association Liaison Group; Phil Brickell and James Wild, members of the UK House of Commons and members of the International Parliamentary Association Liaison Group; Baroness Northover and Lord Cromwell, members of the UK House of Lords and members of the International Parliamentary Association Liaison Group; as well as other officials, the State Great Hural Press Office reported.
