Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, Kh. Bulgantuya, received and met today (June 24, 2025) with a delegation led by Fabian Hamilton, Chair of the UK Parliament’s International Parliamentary Association Liaison Group.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural Kh. Bulgantuya expressed her pleasure in meeting the delegation and extended greetings on the recent birthday of His Majesty King Charles III and the United Kingdom’s National Day.
She emphasized that the official visit of the Chairman of the State Great Hural, D. Amarbayasgalan, to the United Kingdom, played a crucial role in expanding and strengthening bilateral relations, particularly parliamentary cooperation, and in creating a favorable legal environment to extend cooperation to mutually interested sectors between the two countries.
The British Parliamentary delegation first visited Mongolia in 1970, followed by the delegation of the People's Great Hural visiting the United Kingdom in 1972, marking the establishment of the initial parliamentary relations and connections between the two countries.
Going forward, Mongolia places special importance on its relationship and cooperation with the United Kingdom, a key partner and “third neighbor” in Europe, and strives to actively engage in mutually beneficial collaboration across all sectors.
Fabian Hamilton, Chair of the International Parliamentary Association Liaison Group in the UK Parliament, expressed hope that the “All-Party Mongolia Group” in the British Parliament will be reestablished in the near future.
During the meeting, both sides agreed on the important role of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and exchanged views on expanding collaboration in this area, the State Great Hural (Parliament) Press Office reported.
