Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, D. Amarbayasgalan held an official meeting with Ms. V.I. Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

During his participation in the 6th World Conference of Parliamentary Speakers held in Geneva, the Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, D. Amarbayasgalan, held an official meeting with Ms. V.I. Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.


At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. V.I. Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation with Mongolia, with which Russia shares traditional, friendly relations and a comprehensive strategic partnership, particularly in the fields of trade, economy, and education.


Specifically, she highlighted that on 26 February 2025, the Russian Government adopted amendments to the resolution "On the prohibition of gasoline exports from the Russian Federation." According to these amendments, a complete ban on gasoline exports will be in effect for one month starting 1 August 2025, but emphasized that Mongolia will be exempted from this restriction. She further assured that the supply of energy and fuel products exported to Mongolia will continue without interruption.


The Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, D. Amarbayasgalan, expressed his satisfaction with the active cooperation between the legislative bodies, which play a crucial role in the bilateral relationship. He stated that the State Great Hural is working to improve and newly establish a legal framework for broad-based, multifaceted social relations between the two countries. He further emphasized the aspiration to continue developing cooperation between the legislative institutions.
