Japan’s Speaker Nukaga Fukushiro: A new chapter has begun in our parliamentary cooperation

On July 29, 2025, Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve, held an official meeting with Nukaga Fukushiro, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan.


At the start of the meeting, Chairman of the State Great Hural D. Amarbayasgalan emphasized that the Parliament of Mongolia attaches great importance to deepening the friendly relations and cooperation with Japan — Mongolia’s important “third neighbor” and Special Strategic Partner, sharing common democratic values.


He expressed deep gratitude for the consistent support from the Government and people of Japan in strengthening democracy and promoting stable socio-economic development in Mongolia.

Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan also introduced the newly formed parliament’s strategic agenda and the “Three Pillars of Exce” policy on legal and institutional development. He highlighted that Mongolia will host the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17) in 2026.


In this context, the State Great Hural is working to propose the establishment of an advisory body on land degradation and desertification under the IPU’s Standing Committee on Sustainable Development. He expressed confidence that the Japanese Parliament would actively support this initiative.



Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, Nukaga Fukushiro, emphasized that the visit of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito to Mongolia has further deepened the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and their peoples. He noted that Mongolia and Japan share common interests in economic, diplomatic, and security matters, and highlighted that the meeting marked the opening of a new chapter in parliamentary cooperation.
