A document on extending the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia and the Inter-Parliamentary Union was signed

During his participation in the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament held in Geneva, Mr. D. Amarbayasgalan, Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, held an official meeting with Mr. Martin Chungong, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, signed a document extending the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the State Great Hural and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.


Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, Mr. D. Amarbayasgalan, reaffirmed Mongolia’s strong commitment to working closely with the Inter-Parliamentary Union to advance the rule of law, human rights, democratic values, and sustainable development. He also highlighted that the State Great Hural has launched the “Three Pillars of Excellence” initiative aimed at protecting human rights and establishing a human-centered legal environment.



He emphasized that the Strategic Plan of the State Great Hural (Parliament) affirms its commitment to upholding democratic values, ensuring human rights, freedoms, and gender equality, and strengthening an inclusive, modern parliament — aligning closely with the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s 2025 initiative on advancing gender equality.



Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Mr. Martin Chungong, expressed his commitment to working closely with Mongolia to further deepen and expand the cooperation between Mongolia and the IPU. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding not only supports the promotion of human rights and gender equality but also lays the foundation for implementing the goals set out in the Parliament’s Strategic Plan for 2024–2028.
