During the 2025 Spring Session of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, the Parliament adopted the draft law to amend and supplement the Law on the State Great Hural of Mongolia.
According to the amended law, which entered into force on 9 July, eight Standing Committees shall be established to carry out the following functions: to conduct preliminary discussions and issue opinions and conclusions on draft legislation submitted by initiators prior to deliberation at the Plenary Session; to exercise parliamentary oversight; and to draft resolutions of the State Great Hural on matters specifically provided for by law. The amended law also stipulates the establishment of two subcommittees—on Air and Environmental Pollution, and on Food and Agriculture—under the Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture.
In line with this, the Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture was formed with 30 members, as stated in the resolution on the new composition of the Standing Committees of the State Great Hural.
