During the 2025 Spring Session, the State Great Hural (Parliament) adopted the draft law amending the Law on the State Great Hural of Mongolia.
The law, which came into effect on July 9, provides for the establishment of eight Standing Committees tasked with conducting preliminary review and providing opinions on draft legislation submitted by initiators before deliberation at the Plenary Session; exercising parliamentary oversight; and drafting resolutions of the State Great Hural on matters specifically stipulated by law.
In this context, the composition of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy was renewed and approved, and it continues its work with 29 members.
Furthermore, according to the amendments to the Law on the State Great Hural of Mongolia, each Standing Committee may consist of up to 32 members. The Standing Committee on Budget continues its work with 29 members, while the Subcommittee on Budget Oversight operates with 12 members.
