MP B. Beisen, Chair of the Standing Committee on Environment, Food, and Agriculture of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, received and met with a delegation led by Kuenga, Chair of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan, on 6 August 2025.

At the beginning of the meeting, Kuenga, Chair of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan, thanked MP B. Beisen, Chair of the Standing Committee on Environment and Agriculture, for taking the time to receive the delegation. He highlighted the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of Mongolia and the Ministry of Health of Bhutan on cooperation in traditional medicine, following the state visit of His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan in 2024.

In this context, the parties exchanged views on importing rare medicinal plant products into Mongolia. MP B. Beisen, Chair of the Standing Committee on Environment, Food, and Agriculture, noted that, given the similar climate and weather conditions of Mongolia and the Kingdom of Bhutan, medicinal plants grown in the highlands of Bhutan are considered particularly suitable for the Mongolian population.

He also noted that, as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia and the Ministry of Education and Skills Development of the Kingdom of Bhutan during the 2024 state visit, 13 Bhutanese students studied traditional medicine in Mongolia that same year, reflecting the rapid advancement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Kuenga, Chair of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan, and other members of the group expressed their high impressions of visiting Mongolia for the first time and shared the joint view that parliamentary cooperation between the two countries will continue to expand and develop year by year, the Press and Media Department of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia reported.
