Chair of the Standing Committee on Economics R. Seddorj received and met with a delegation from the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan

MP R. Seddorj, Chair of the Standing Committee on Economics, received and met with a delegation led by Kuenga, Chair of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan, on 7 August 2025.

At the beginning of the meeting, R. Seddorj, Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Policy, expressed his appreciation, noting that the first parliamentary-level visit reflects the strengthening of bilateral relations following the 2024 state visit of His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan to Mongolia.

R. Seddorj, Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Policy, noted that as of June 2024, bilateral trade amounted to USD 51,270 and emphasized the need to study and implement measures to increase trade volume and diversify the range of goods and products.

The parties also agreed that combining Mongolia’s 'Go Mongolia' initiative and Bhutan’s 'Bhutan Believe' initiative into a joint brand would promote tourism and strengthen people-to-people connections.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Kuenga, Chair of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan, and other members of the group expressed their satisfaction with visiting Mongolia. Both sides agreed that this visit would serve as a catalyst for expanding cooperation between the legislative bodies, governments, and peoples of the two countries.
