Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia is paying an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan at the invitation of Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Kazakh Parliament. During the visit, the delegation led by Chairman Amarbayasgalan met with Mäulen Ashimbaev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, to exchange views on bilateral relations and cooperation.
Chairman Mäulen Ashimbaev extended congratulations to the Chairman of the State Great Hural on the 35th anniversary of the establishment of a permanent parliamentary institution in Mongolia. He commended the continued development of the Mongolian Parliament since the beginning of the democratic transition and its ongoing dedication to fulfilling the aspirations and protecting the rights of the people.
He introduced the members of the Kazakhstan–Mongolia Parliamentary Group, noting their active efforts to strengthen cooperation between the parliamentary groups of the two countries. He further expressed a commitment to enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation, expanding major projects and programs, and intensifying collaboration in the fields of science and education.
Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia expressed appreciation for the continued frequency of high-level state talks and mutual visits, emphasizing that cooperation between the legislative bodies has long served as a cornerstone of the strong bilateral relationship. He also noted that special attention would be given to effectively implementing the outcomes of the official talks held with Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, and to enhancing their mutual benefits.
Both sides agreed that the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Great Hural of Mongolia and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, which strengthens the legal foundation of their relations, was one of the most significant outcomes of the visit.
During the meeting, issues were discussed regarding strengthening regional and international cooperation, addressing challenges in the transport sector, establishing new routes, and increasing and regularizing direct flight frequencies. Following the meeting, the visiting delegation toured the Senate Palace.
The visiting delegation includes members of the Mongolia–Kazakhstan Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural, as well as representatives from the five political parties and coalitions holding seats in the Parliament.
