Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia Kh. Bulgantuya today (25 August 2025) received a delegation of members of the United States House of Representatives, including Ed Case, Ami Bera, Dr. Neal Dunn, Sara Jacobs, and Jonathan L. Jackson.
At the outset of the meeting, Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia Kh. Bulgantuya expressed her pleasure in meeting with members of the United States Congress, underscoring that the United States is Mongolia’s important “third neighbour” and holds a special place as a strategic partner.
She conveyed her gratitude for the consistent bipartisan support extended by the United States to Mongolia’s democracy and market economy, despite the geographical distance between the two countries.
She further highlighted that, thanks to recent high-level reciprocal visits and the operation of bilateral and trilateral mechanisms, political relations have been further strengthened and cooperation has deepened at the regional and international levels.
Deputy Chairwoman Kh.Bulgantuya also noted the launch in May this year of United Airlines’ flights on the Tokyo–Ulaanbaatar route, as well as the jointly implemented “Travel Responsibly” campaign, which she stressed had brought positive progress.
She expressed Mongolia’s interest in expanding cooperation in areas such as energy, strategically important mineral resources, tourism, and space exploration.
Representative Ed Case of the United States Congress stated that, within the framework of cooperation, efforts would be made to establish a research group and to explore opportunities for increasing investment in Mongolia. He also commended the fact that the proportion of women MPs in the Mongolian Parliament is higher than that in the U.S. Congress and affirmed his commitment to working together to further strengthen parliamentary democracy.
The meeting was attended by MPs S. Erdenebold, O. Saranchuluun, Ch. Anar, and A. Undraa. Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the United States were established on 27 January 1987.
