At the invitation of Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia D. Amarbayasgalan, a delegation led by Gerard Brownlee, Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand, arrived in Mongolia yesterday (31 August 2025) to undertake an official visit.
The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural Kh. Bulgantuya, H.E. D. Davaasuren, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to New Zealand, S. Erdenebold, Chair of the Mongolia–New Zealand Parliamentary Group, and other officials.
During the visit, Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan and Speaker Gerard Brownlee will hold official talks and exchange views on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation. This marks the first visit to Mongolia at the level of the Speaker of the New Zealand Parliament.
Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and New Zealand were established in 1975, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
