Dr. J.Chinburen MP, participated in the virtual conference of the IPU Standing Committee on Sustainable Development

May 18, 2021. The conference of the Standing Committee on Sustainable Development, which is a part of the series of preliminary events of the 142nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was held online at 20:00-21:30 hours in Ulaanbaatar time.

Dr. J.Chinburen, a member of the State Great Hural, represented the parliament of Mongolia at the conference.


Delegates from over 50 countries have participated in the Standing Committee conference, which was held under the theme “Mainstreaming digitalization and the circular economy to achieve the SDGs, particularly responsible consumption and production".

The conference has approved the summary record of the Committee’s session held at the 141st IPU Assembly in Belgrade (October 2019), officially announced the results of the silence procedure related to the proposal for a subject item for the next resolution, choice of co-rapporteurs and other items to be added to the Committee’s agenda as well as conducted an election, based on proposals from the geopolitical groups, to fill the current vacancies on the Bureau.

The 142nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) will be held online between 24 to 28 May 2021, under the theme of "Overcoming the pandemic today and building a better tomorrow: the role of parliaments.
