MPs participate in the RSIS-WTO Virtual Parliamentarian Workshop 2021


May 17, 2021. Mrs. Kh.Bulgantuya and Mr.D.Tsogtbaatar, members of the State Great Hural, have participated in the Asia-Pacific parliamentarians virtual workshop on International Trade.

The three-day event, co-organized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) in Singapore, brings together more than 40 parliamentarians from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Asia-Pacific region.

The workshop is intended to increase the capacity of regional legaslators to engage in internationsl trade issues that includes a deeper understanding of the World Trade Organization  and current and  future negotiation issues in international trade.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ambassador Ong Keng Yong, Executive Deputy Chairman of the Rajaratnam School of International Studies, welcomed the guests and Mr. Tang Chuan-Jin, Singaporean parliament speaker, opened the workshop.


Mr. D.Tsogtbaatar MP, has shared his opinion on the discussion under “The Global Economy in a post COVID-19 era”. He noted that “The multilateral cooperation is more important than ever during the pandemic. It is because the domestic economic growth slows, everyone is anxious about border opening and wants to return to normal life. We need to working together to overcome the pandemic and bring multilateral trade and cooperation to normal again”.
