Head of the Mongolia-Hungary Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural held a virtual meeting with his Hungarian counterpart

On June 3, 2021, Mr. N.Ganibal, MP, Head of the Mongolia-Hungary Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, held a virtual meeting with his counterpart Mr. László Horváth, MP, Head of the Hungary-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Hungarian National Assembly.

The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries and also the cooperation between the parliamentary groups.   

Mr. N.Ganibal, MP, noted that Hungary is an important partner of Mongolia in Eastern Europe. He extended his gratitude to Hungary for treating Mongolian students who are currently studying on Hungarian government scholarship programs and those residing and working in the country equally as their own citizens in the vaccination against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also thanked the country for their part in contributions to the COVAX program. Mr.N.Ganibal, MP, noted that the strengthened cooperation between the two parliaments will play an important role in the further development of the bilateral relations. Therefore, Mr. N.Ganibal, MP, elaborated that the respective parliamentary groups need to pay special attention to the development of the bilateral relations. As the direct cooperation between the Parliamentary Secretariats play an incremental role in the further development of parliamentary relations, Mr. N.Ganibal proposed mutual visits and exchange of experiences between the two Parliament’s Secretariat offices. He further expressed interest in establishing direct contacts between the Research Centers of the two parliaments, with visits to the Hungarian National Assembly library and joint researches.

Mr. N.Ganibal stressed that the education sector is a priority area of cooperation between the two countries and thanked the Hungarian side for their invaluable contribution to the education of Mongolian students through their governmental scholarship programs. He highlighted the opportunities for the further development of relations in the agricultural sector, and proposed for the exchange of experiences in the areas of Hungary’s rural tourism sector and agricultural sector activities.

 

Mr. László Horváth, Member of the Hungarian National Assembly and Head of the Hungary-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Hungarian National Assembly, expressed that he was pleased with the steady development of bilateral relations and explained he would support one another at any given time. He also stated that the Hungarian Government Scholarship and training programs are to be further developed and deepened. In this regard, he proposed for bilateral cooperation to center on the agricultural and food industries, with training being provided to Mongolian specialists at Hungary’s Institute of Agriculture, and other forms of support in regards to the food industry. Mr. László Horváth also expressed his position that it was highly likely that proposals made by Mr. N. Ganibal will all be implemented.

     Also, in attendance were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Hungary Mr. Z.Batbayar and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Mongolia Ms. Borbala Anna Obrushanski. The parties also exchanged their views on the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
