Parliament ratifies the announcement of the 2017 Presidential Election Day of Mongolia

On January 26, 2017, at the morning plenary session of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, the first issue to discuss was a draft parliamentary resolution to determine and announce the polling day of the 2017 Presidential Election.

The draft resolution was introduced by MP D.Khayankhyarvaa and according to the Election Law, the Parliament of Mongolia shall determine the polling day before 150 days and announce the polling day 65 days before the election day. Moreover, the polling day for Mongolian citizens residing abroad might be continued up to three days.

Pursuant to draft resolution, the Presidential Election Day will be announced from February 01, 2017 and it is scheduled to take place on June 26, 2017. Mongolian citizens residing abroad to vote on June 10 and 11 of 2017 at the diplomatic representative offices of Mongolia.

Following the question-answering procedure, the draft parliamentary resolution to determine and announce the polling day of the 2017 Presidential Election was ratified with 86.6% of votes, which is effective from January 26, 2017.
